Longleat Festival of Light

England

A delightful festive spectacle

Longleat’s Festival of Light is a magical experience. With the stunning Elizabethan house adorned with festive decoration, outside the ‘Capability’ Brown-landscaped grounds come alive with a series of wondrous life-sized Chinese lanterns. Illuminated characters, animals, plants and buildings create a glowing winter wonderland of fantastic scenes. Nearby, the grand Georgian city of Bath adds to the festive spirit when it is transformed by the wooden chalets of its lovely Christmas market: delightful crafts and gifts abound in the shadow of the city’s stunning Gothic abbey.

Lanterns, lions and festive cheer

-----
“We have recently returned from a one night trip to Longleat Festival of Light & Bath Christmas Market. Everyone had a great time and I have never had as many thank you messages. Our coach driver was very courteous and helpful. The paperwork given to us was really informative and useful and we were really grateful.” Margaret, Group Organiser

Attractions:

Longleat Festival of Light

Longleat undergoes a transformation for the festive season, with spectacular lanterns which illuminate as darkness falls. The theme of the lantern display changes each year. As well as strolling amongst these amazing scenes, you can explore the ground floor rooms of Longleat House itself, which is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Despite the chill outside, Longleat’s safari drive-through remains open, and you can spot lions, tigers, zebras, and many other exotic creatures. A boat trip on the lake is another way view the beautiful and extensive grounds of this unique property.

Bath Christmas Market

The Georgian grandeur of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is given a sprinkling of festive merriment during its famed seasonal market. With over 180 wooden chalets taking over the cobbled streets surrounding the ancient Roman Baths, it’s a shopper’s paradise with an array of handmade crafts and gifts. Plenty of quality food stalls and vendors of mulled wine & cider mean that the market is a delightful Christmas experience.
